The Ayers Rock Tours and Outback Tours are led by a professional local guides and you'll visit out of the way places the busses and crowds don't go.

Each of the 3, 5 and 10 day Ayers Rock Tours use 4WD vehicles and only take small groups of between 9 and 14 passengers. Activities include hiking, sleeping under the stars, swimming, camping and exploring southern and Central Australia.

Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park is a World Heritage listed park and is one of only a handful of World Heritage Listed areas which is listed for both it's Natural and Cultural qualities. It is located very close to the centre of Australia, is surrounded by red sandy deserts and is rich with Aboriginal Culture, it is estimated that Aboriginal People have lived in the area of Ayers Rock for at least 40 000 years.

All Ayers Rock Tours visit Ayers Rock, (Uluru) The Olgas (Kata Tjuta) & Kings Canyon. The 5 Day 4WD Ayers Rock Tour visits all the 3 day destinations in addition to the Western MacDonnell Ranges and Oak Valley Aboriginal Community. The 10 Day 4WD Ayers Rock Tour travels between Adelaide and Alice Springs and visits the 3 day destinations plus the Western MacDonnell Ranges, the Flinders Ranges, Lake Eyre, Coober Pedy, Oodnadatta and Dalhousie Springs on the edge of the Simpson Desert.

All 4WD Ayers Rock Tours are camping tours where the group sleeps out under the stars in Australian Swags (bed roll) around the campfire, (tents are carried if you prefer). The campsites are typically bush camps with little or no facilities depending on the site, these camps are chosen for their remote locations and crowd free nights. At some locations it is not permitted to bushcamp so campsites are used, these may be basic campsites in National Parks or at Ayers Rcok, withing the Ayers Rock Resort camping areas.

The 10 Day Adelaide to Alice Springs Tour is an awesome product which will truly get you into some remote areas where very few tourists go, every night is a bush camp in the remote wilderness, sometimes you camp several hundred kilometers from even the smallest of towns and there is lots of exposure to and information about Aboriginal Culture, you even camp at an Aboriginal Community in the Flinders Ranges. Travelwild was established in 1998, we ran a single 2 day Adventure Tour around Kangaroo Island (then called Campwild) and had a very simple philosophy, "Run the best tours possible while exploring remote wilderness areas with small groups of active people."

These day Travelwild is a much different company, we now group together the best small group adventure tours around Australia, from Ayers Rock to Kakadu to Fraser Island, all which follow that simple philosophy of small groups and adventure.

Travelwild doesn't offer the cheapest tours, we don't offer luxury tours, we offer adventure tours to people who think sleeping out under the starts is fun, who like swimming in outback waterholes, who want to learn about the traditional cultures of Aboriginal People, who realize that sometimes to get to the best places, to experience the best things, you might need to sit in the back of a 4WD and get covered in dirt and dust, or you may need to hike for several kilometers.
